1 Corinthians 12:1-3 “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be
unaware. You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute
idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking
by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is
Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
In verses one to three, the apostle Paul makes
a clear case for the acknowledgment of the Lordship of Jesus over our lives to
be a direct result of the Holy Spirit's work within.
He draws an analogy of how
we were led by dumb or inanimate idols; with how are now led by the Spirit. With
this analogy Paul relates the interpretation of his thought.
We are led by our
own heart's allegiance and volition.
We bow in obedience to the movings of the
Spirit in and through “His Gifts of Grace”. Knowing the Holy Spirit will extend
the claims and Lordship of Jesus to the lives of others, we know it starts in us
